FFR SCHEDULE- 2019
Schedule for Formal Fall Recruitment: September 6 - 14
Friday, September 6: Orientation (move in for PNM’s living on campus starts at 12:00 pm at Haggett Hall / 5:30 check in begins for 6:30 Orientation at Meany Hall)
Potential New Members will receive their welcome packet and an Open House t-shirt. Detailed information will be given about the following week and questions will be answered by the Panhellenic recruitment team. At the end, Potential New Members will have the opportunity to meet their Recruitment Counselors for the week and their Recruitment groups.
Dress Code: No dress code required, dress casually and wear whatever you like!
Saturday September 7: DAY OFF
There is a UW football game this day and there will be no recruitment events scheduled for this day.
Sunday/Monday September 8 & 9: Open House (Sunday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm / Monday 8:45 am – 6:00 pm)
Open house rounds are split between two days in which Potential New Members will visit all 18 chapters Panhellenic chapters. It is an informal meet and greet and it is common to meet numerous women from each chapter during the rounds.
Dress Code: For these rounds, women going through the recruitment process will wear the shirt they were given during orientation, they may wear whatever type of shoes, accessories and bottoms that they choose. Shorts or jeans are common as well as sandals or sneakers for footwear.
Tuesday/Wednesday, September 10 & 11: Philanthropy (Tuesday 10:00 am – 9:10 pm / Wednesday 1:00 pm – 6:30 pm)
During philanthropy rounds, potential new members will visit up to 13 chapters and learn about each chapters’ philanthropic efforts and the organizations in which the chapter supports. It is common to speak to multiple women of each chapter during this round.
Dress Code: An outfit that is put together and showcases your personal style is ideal during Philanthropy rounds. A sundress or set of pants and shorts with a blouse are common outfits for this round, as is it not quite formal but a step above shorts and a t-shirt.
Thursday, September 12: House Tours (9:10 am – 10:00 pm)
Potential new members will receive a house tour of each of the chapter that they visit, which will be a maximum of eight. This presents great opportunity to ask questions about different living situations and experience what it would be like to live in individual chapter houses. Potential new members will also be provided with the financial information sheet from each chapter.
Dress Code: As rounds get increasingly formal, this round calls for a nice dress, jumpsuit or skirt and blouse with a pair of dressy flats or heels.
Friday, September 13: Preference (11:00 am – 6:00 pm)
Preference is the final round of the recruitment process where potential new members will visit a maximum of two chapters and ultimately select the chapter where she feels most comfortable and is prepared to begin a lifetime of membership with. This round is the most formal of them all, and each chapter has their own unique ceremony that they will present. It is common that potential new members will speak to only one active member during this round to solidify her connection.
Dress code: A dress with tasteful jewelry and heels are common during preference round. As it is the most formal, most women wear a dress they might wear to a cocktail party, wedding, or formal dinner.
Saturday, September 14: Bid Day (9:00 am)
Potential new members will receive their Bid Cards and meet with the new members of their chapter before running home to their Bid Day celebration. This day is also move-in day, so everyone should be prepared to move in to their new home.
Dress Code: Dress is casual, wear something comfortable that is easy to run in! Running or jean shorts, as well as jeans or leggings with sandals or sneakers are common!
