Chapters may continuous open bid and time during the school year except prior to recruitment.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Colony:</strong></span> Status of a new chapter prior to installation.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Dirty Recruiting:</strong></span> A term used to describe illegal activity by a sorority member to recruit a potential new member.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Formal Recruitment:</strong></span> A series of rounds hosted by sororities that are scheduled and governed by the Panhellenic Association.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Greek:</strong></span> A term applied to members affiliated with Greek letter organizations<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Hazing:</strong></span> Unethical and Forbidden pre-initiation activities. This applies to both the mental and physical activities of which are banned by Ohio State, the local and state government, and the Panhellenic Association and the Interfraternity Council.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Initiation:</strong></span> The ceremony in which a pledged new member becomes an active member.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Interfraternity Council (IFC):</strong></span> The governing body of the 27 men’s chapters.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Legacy:</strong></span> This definition differs by chapter. The term generally refers to the daughter, granddaughter, or sister of an initiated member of a chapter.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>Multi Cultural Greek Council:</strong></span> The governing body of 6 culturally based chapters.<br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);"><strong>NPC:</strong></span> National Panhellenic Conference.
