UW Panhellenic Officer Descriptions
Duties of the President
The Panhellenic President shall have the overall responsibility for the operation of the Panhellenic Executive Board and preside over all regular and special meetings of the Panhellenic Association at the University of Washington. The president shall also chair revision committees of the Constitution and Bylaws annually, coordinate retreats for officers, and serve as an ASUW Senate Representative.
Duties of the Vice President of Greek Relations
The Vice President of Greek Relations coordinates all-Greek community philanthropic and community service events, Co-Chairs Greek Week committee along with IFC Counterpart and serves as a liaison to the multicultural fraternal organizations including the National Pan-hellenic and United Greek Council. Duties also include working in conjunction with ASUW and IFC to plan campus Homecoming activities.
Duties of the Vice President of Recruitment
The Vice President of Recruitment maintains procedures of recruitment according to the National Panhellenic Conference rules and regulations, updates and distributes the Formal Recruitment rules and Code of Ethics, trains and oversees VP Recruitment Development and oversees the registration process for potential new members.
Duties of the Vice President Recruitment Development
The Vice President of Recruitment Development oversees the Continuous Open Bidding or Informal Recruitment process, coordinates Greek Preview and production of Greek Preview Brochures, assists in the training and preparation of Junior Panhellenic and produces the Recruitment manual for potential new members during Fall Formal Recruitment. The Vice President of Recruitment Development also works in close conjunction with the VP Recruitment.
Duties of the Vice President of Standards
The Vice President of Standards trains and chairs the standards committee, oversees the disciplinary process according to NPC Judicial procedure, and educates the community about policies and procedures regarding alcohol and hazing.
Duties of the Vice President of Scholarship and Service
The Vice President of Scholarship and Service chairs the scholarship and service committees, plans community wide service events, and produces the Quarterly Panhellenic Association grade ranking and distributes to the chapter Presidents.
Duties of the Vice President of Member Development
The Vice President of Member Development coordinates quarterly speakers for educational purposes, oversees New Member Educators, coordinates the annual Recognition Banquet, coordinates the All-Greek Leadership Retreat, maintains the New Member Resource Book, and plans programming opportunities throughout the year for each class, new member through senior.
Duties of the Vice President of Public Relations
The Vice President of Public Relations assists in the production of all media related items for Panhellenic, including recruitment brochures, flyers, advertisements, press releases, etc., and manages all needed changes/updates for the Panhellenic website. Also oversees production on the Greek Voice with IFC counterpart, works in conjunction with the Director of Marketing, maintain a master calendar of all sorority philanthropies, founders days, and large events, and serve as the liaison for the Daily.
Duties of the Vice President of Administration
The Vice President of Administration records and distributes minutes of all meetings of the Panhellenic Executive Board and the General Council, is responsible for the official correspondence of the Panhellenic Association, conducts supervision of all finances of the Panhellenic Association including bills, expense reports, etc., collects Quarterly Reports, distributes and collects house bills from all sororities, assists in the preparation of payroll and taxes, and prepares the budget annually in conjunction with the Panhellenic Advisor.
Duties of the Vice President of New Member Services
The Director of Recruitment Counselors chairs the committee that selects recruitment counselors, facilitates training sessions for recruitment counselors during winter and spring quarters, supervises the recruitment counselors during Formal Recruitment, coordinates the training of Junior Panhellenic and works with the Director of Marketing on high school visitations and College Fairs.
